I’ve hung out at w3schools a lot today, to see if I could make something. And yes, I have made a few futile attempts at designing and developing things with html and css. But the scope of whats to learn is incredible. I’ve seen Fred make some flash stuff (thats the animation thing that makes most of internet look cool) lately, one I thought was a really good animation. He uploaded it to youtube where they have this flash player, but he was not happy with the quality of the result. And I sorta agree, it looks better on his laptop. So he’s trying to learn how to make his flash better quality for their flash player.

He sendt me a mail to a review of apples website which really got into detail about how they made their menu, and how it was all set up. So I’ve been googling stuff like grid and gradient and so on. Seems there a “correct way” to make css, but noone wants to give out their secret. Found some other site where you can test what you do in different browsers and guess what. None of em looks much alike, and it all looks like crap. :S

It’s almost like I feel that what I’m learning now is what all the web-gurus were doing 10 years ago. Should maybe change the name of this blog to “Old Webdesign”? Heh.

He also wants me to join these other websites like Twitter and Flicker and so on, but I’m gonna keep to one site for the time. It’s enough to get my head around in here already.

So, not too happy today, I was getting my hopes up when fred helped me set up my blog, but now I’ve got the feeling this will take years before it MAY amount to anything. Gonna grab some beers and shoot some cans now, that always makes me feel better.

This is the first public thing I’ve ever written, so be gentle with me. Fred says you are all nice people, and he normally knows what he’s talking about. Fred has convinced me now that if I too study on the internet what makes people tick we could maybe start a company in a couple of years. He’s really gotten his hooks into animation and Adobe Flash, I’m not sure what my field will be yet. I need to look some more on hot websites.

Well, I’ll write more when I know more about this web stuff, Fred wants me to look at codes and learn development.
